What Is A Newsletter?

A Newsletter in GroupNews is a centralized source of relevant and valuable information for your group. Your group can have one newsletter, or it can have many.

Editions

An Edition is a particular newsletter that is printed at one time.

Publishing Schedule

GroupNews newsletters are automatically published on a regular schedule as Editions. As long as you have at least one story submitted to an upcoming edition, it will be published according to the schedule you set. Newsletters can be published daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

To set the publishing schedule for a newsletter:

  1. Click on the drop-down menu next to your icon in the upper right-hand corner
  2. Choose Newsletters
  3. Click the three dots on the right of your chosen newsletter
  4. Click Publishing Schedule
  5. Choose your preferred scheduling options
  6. Click Update Publishing Schedule

Visibility

Visibility settings determine who is able to see a particular newsletter.

Private means the newsletter will be available only to Group members which you add as Subscribers to this newsletter.

Group means the newsletter will be available to all members of the Group, even if the group member is not a Subscriber to that particular newsletter.

World means the newsletter will be publicly available to anyone worldwide.

To change a newsletter’s visibility settings:

  1. Click on the drop-down menu next to your icon in the upper right-hand corner
  2. Choose Newsletters
  3. Click the three dots on the right of your chosen newsletter
  4. Choose Options
  5. Scroll down to Visibility
  6. Choose either Private, Group, or World
  7. Click Update Visibility
